...would any of you have knowledge regarding the following?
I have bent over backwards this last week to eliminate the dreaded CEL (my reg sticker is 12/16, so I will have to late renew on Monday, hopefully). I believe that I have had all the necessary work done to eliminate the CEL; I had the O2 sensors replaced today, and the tech informed me that that they reset the CEL for me.
I seem to recall someone telling me some time ago that the TXDOT inspection process can detect if your CEL has been recently reset. It sounds reasonable, if it is true, to catch people who are cheating the system. So, I guess my question is, is this true, and if so, how much do I need to drive my car for TXDOT to not consider the CEL reset as ‘recent?’

Not a Texan, but a Californian who has dealt with something similar. You’ll likely have to drive a certain amount of miles (I think it was 200 miles for me) and alternate your driving behaviors (e.g. revs, speeds) to reset your computer’s parameters after clearing your CEL and/or disconnecting the battery.

Exactly. The scanner can see if the ECU is in it’s initial setup not in learned/normal mode. I would try to drive it as much as possible before your inspection. It will probably only take a half tank or so for the ECU to re-calibrate and run in normal mode.
